It's been a few weeks since my last blog...the big "W" and I have been inseparable- again. Big "W" is how I refer to that thing that consumes me from 9-5 (or 10pm!), Monday - Friday (and some weekends too, if I'm lucky!) So having said that I won't complain about the big "W" seeing as it has allowed me to buy myself all the pretty things I like, like my little garden from which I'm writing at this very moment.
After a manic last few weeks all I wanted to do today was to play at home and enjoy the silence. To my surprise I found a bottle of Pimms in the cupboard from my last boozy gathering and now it's a gingery, citrusy cocktail party.... For one! Haha but back to my blooms...
When I first bought this empty block of land I wondered how long it would be before we had beautiful flowers blooming like those in our old house, which was so hard to part ways with. That was nearly a year ago when all I saw when I looked out the window was red dirt and dry lumps of bushy grass. Today while downing Pimms cocktails and taking in a bit of sun, I looked around and realised my little garden has finally bloomed and I nearly missed it! All those little baby plants that we had planted a year ago which I thought had no hope in hell of surviving a cold winter, made it - they not only made it but they have blossomed into beautiful bursts of colour in my little garden and I couldn't be prouder. Even my baby magnolia has given me its first silky white bloom.
To end this post, I hate to sound clichéd but I'm really glad I have taken time out to smell the flowers :)

Like a virgin...my first blog!!!
So 4 weeks ago I decided to put my facebook account to sleep...it was part lent promise part I'm growing out of it or perhaps getting tired of growing old with it!
Like any other girl after the end of a long relationship...I wanted to try something new - Michelle meet blogger - blogger meet Michelle. Was it Luv at first sight? Hardly think so, but this potential new interest...I wanted to know more about and so I opened an account a few weeks ago. So what are you blogging about? How's blogger going? Ranting away yet? Is what my former facebook friends wanted to know. Well answer is I didn't and still don't really have a master plan for blogger and I, don't know how it's going yet because I haven't given it my heart & soul... But here goes - my first post :)
Will I be blogging about fashion, travel, food, special interests, saving the animals, arts, culture, sport? Quite possibly all of the above, because I intend to use this space to share my journey in finding or trying to find beauty in everything I do, as silly or as simple as it might be.
Today I found beauty in regaining my shopping mojo...and it was a beautiful thing. Searching for an outfit to wear to the Black Opal races this weekend evoked feelings I had lost, a passion for "getting dressed-up"!! Don't get me wrong I still luv "getting dressed-up" I do it every day for work but its not the same. My favourite part about an outing is getting ready for it, putting my outfit together (on my own, dislike being styled by others). Well I' m half way there now - I have shoes, thank you Lauren Marinis I'm loving my emerald green Gilda pumps and they arrived just in time. I also have a head piece in hmmmm burgundy. Now I have to bring them together, oh and yes I need a dress, belt and accessories that will all compliment each other without making me look like I just stepped out the set of Oz the great and powerful! Not that there's anything wrong with that, dying to see that movie but would rather look more composed than costumey ( is this even a word).
Hoping to finalise my outfit tomorrow, meanwhile I'll keep thinking about it over spag bol and cider...great combo! Carb coma coming my way!! somehow think it and everything else that's on my mind atm will be ok...because the piece of French stick I cut just before told me so. I'm latin, i'm all about signs ;)
